He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Lawrence Schafer and Jennie Isabel Reiter; and his sisters, Betty, Gladys and Norma Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sue Allen; his children, Cynthia Fritts (Ron) of Valrico, Craig Schafer (Sue), Dan Schafer (Sarah) of Wausau, WI, Lisa Roberts (Paul) of Tyler, TX and David Schafer (Dannie) of Columbia, MO.; and his grandchildren, Nicci, Nathan, Ryan, Matt, Nick, Matthew, Josh, Dylan, CJ, Kyle, Jonathan, Hannah and Jake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
