He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis DeWitt and Bertha DeWitt (Wort); his son James DeWitt; his brother Robert DeWitt; his son-in-law Gregory Chapman; and his grandson Nathan Chapman.
He is survived by: his wife Velma DeWitt; and his children, Cynthia DeWitt and Steven DeWitt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
