He is survived by: his wife Sandra Marie Smit (Lane); his children, Kari Smit and Nicholas Smit of Upland, CA; his grandsons, Bodhi and Zion; his stepchildren, Jennifer Jenkins of Galivants Ferry, SC and Robert Strenkowski of Eureka, CA.; and his sister Rixt Smit of Redondo Beach, CA..
