He was predeceased by: his mother Lillian Mae Phillips Caver. He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Sue Caver Holsomback (Dave Holsomback) and Dr. Tony Edwin Caver (D. K. Strickland); his grandson Eric Ryan Holsomback; his sister Patricia Joy Caver Gordon (Donald S. Gordon); and his nieces, Tiffany Strebeck and Tracy McKee.
