He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Fore-Coleman; his stepmother Neoma Coleman; his sister Beverly Morrison; his nephew Jerry Leon Morrison; and his great-niece Marjorie Edwards.

He is survived by: his brother-in-law Jerry Morrison; his children, Donnie Coleman, Melinda Coleman, Ginger Klippstein, Jenny Pratt (Devron), Richard Elliott Coleman, Amber Nuñez (Chris) and Tessie McClenahan (Trey); and his grandchildren, April Williams, Meagen Nichols, Jeromy, Robbie, Zach Edwards, Rachael Coleman, Tiana, Allyson Trevino, Twyla Coleman, Derby, Charity, Amanda, Zachary Klippstein, Emily Pratt, Eva Nuñez, Savi and Girl Scout Troup. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two nieces and several cousins.
