He was predeceased by: his siblings, Margie Boyd and Dilbert Whisenhunt; and his sons, James Jr., Jerry and Mike.

He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Chandler; his daughter Cheryl Gee (Robert) of Jacksonville, TX.; and his stepchildren, Karen Bailey of Fayetteville, Patrice Klitz of Lake Ouachita, Keri Klitz of Lowell and Tommy Klitz (Faith) of Horatio.
