He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Larry Matthews, Sr. and Janis Sue Matthews; and his nephew Wade Owen Whatley. He is survived by: his siblings, Malissa Ann Murray (Bill), Marla Michelle Matthews, John Wesley Matthews and Chris Matthews; his nieces and nephews, John David Holt, Emily Nicole Whatley (Matt), Brandon Chase Hall (Melissa), Heather Michelle Langston (Matt) and Rachel Catherine Taylor (Trey); and his uncles, Jimmie Clyde Ladd (Katie) and Donald Ray Matthews (Susan). He is also survived by other family members and friends.
