She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Whitfield and Virby Whitfield. She is survived by: her children, John Smith (Tina), Jason Smith and Donna Anderson; her grandchildren, Jennifer Golden, Daniel Golden, Chase Smith, Aaron Smith and Haley Hawthrone; and her siblings, Lonnie Whitfield Jr., Larry Whitfield and Marilea Spedale.
