He is survived by: his wife Barbara Childress; his brother Leslie Childress; his children, Laurel McCarter (Mike), Randy Childress (Kate) and Gary Childress (Patti); his grandchildren, Miranda, Walt, Megan, Wade, Seth, Anna Kate and Olivia; and his great grandchildren, Zane, Mayleigh, Weston, Gabriel, Michael, Everett, Isaac, Nathaniel and Parker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
