He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest B. Byrd and Cricket Marie Byrd (Green); and his sisters, Martha Crump, Cora Lee Bryant and Barbara Betts.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Byrd; his children, Allen Wayne Byrd, Samuel Wayne Byrd and Elizabeth Pratt; and his siblings, Rebecca Lanier (Archie), Robert Lee Byrd (Janise), Linda Byrd, John Byrd (Rhonda) and Tonya Haile. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as, many friends and extended relatives.
