He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Davis and Alma Yarberry Davis; and his former wife Margaret Wren Davis. He is survived by: his wife Eva Eloise McGinley; his children, Johnny L. Davis of Lincolnton, Debbie Stewart of Harlem and Patricia Rinker (Bryan) of Evans; his brother Ronnie Davis (Becky) of East End, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Emyle Prata, John Davis, Jacob Davis, Hayden Davis, Brighton Rinker, Angela Maxwell and Kenny Stewart. He is also survived by 4 great- grandchildren.
