He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Mercer and Josie Mae Mercer (Garner); and his daughter Janice Sue Mercer. He is survived by: his wife Elva Mercer (Brazil); his children, Gregory Mercer and Tammy Houge (Danny); and his grandchildren, Amanda Archer (Chris), Jennifer Carlson (Austin), Timothy Houge (Robyn), Carrie Kirkman (Johnathon), Corey Hogue (Elizabeth), Teddy Barnard (Savanah), Dalton Mercer (Haley) and Coleman. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
