He was predeceased by: his parents, Oral James and Mary Elsie Dortch; and his brothers, Billy Anthony Dortch and Lloyd Ray Dortch. He is survived by: his sisters, Carolyn Herndon (Buck), Kathi Williams Bergman (Jim) and Becky Cossey (Larry). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
