He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pointer and Roxie Tyler Pointer; and his sisters, Mary Helen Clemons, Annie Matthews, Margie Pointer and Brenda Pointer.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Morristene Ewing; his girlfriend's child Terry Ewing (Sharonda) of Conway, Arkansas; his children, Patricia Pointer of Desoto County, Mississippi, Vaness Harrell (Irvin) of Desoto County, Mississippi, Delonda Harrell (Tony) of Desoto County, Mississippi, Lakeisha McKinzie (Chris) of Desoto County, Mississippi, Willie Pointer, Jr. (Stephanie) of Sikeston, Missouri, Ricardo Willis (Kena) of Conyers, Georgia, Ramorio Tyler of Tutwiler, Mississippi, Dwight Tyler (Cathy) of Clarksdale, Mississippi and Derrick Austin of Decatur, Georgia; and his siblings, James Pointer (Canary), Charles Pointer (Pokcha), Wilbur Williams (Deloris), James Williams (Lavon), Eula Smith (Freddie) and Mattie Johnson (Robert). He is also survived by grandchildren; eight (8) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the M & D District Center. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
