It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammie Pruitt Sr. (Helena, Arkansas), who passed away on March 17, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie and Minnie Bell Pruitt, Sr.; his siblings, Cecil Woodman, Mattie Brown, Minnie Bell Redmon and Gracie Speed; his son Sammie Pruitt, Jr.; and his grandson Daniel Hood.
He is survived by: his fiancé Jacquline Beanland of Little Rock, AR; his children, Michael Pruitt, Sr. (Monique) of West Helena, AR, Sammuel Pruitt, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Paula Harris (Michael) of Memphis, TN, Annette Subber (Will) of Arlington, TX, Dwight Swanigan, Jr. of Little Rock, AR, Cammeal Swanigan of Memphis, TN and Toney Braggs of Little Rock, AR; his siblings, Charlie Pruitt, Jr. (Robin) of St. Louis, MO, Lloyd Pruitt, Sr. (Tammy) of St. Louis, MO, Lydia Pruitt of West Helena, AR and Shirley Burnett of West Helena, AR; his sister-in-law Mammie Woodman of Bloomfield, MI; and his aunts, Rebecca Gatlin of Lexa, AR and Dorothy Gatlin of California. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
