Phillip D'Anthony Stackouse Obituary
Phillip was born to Donna Marie Lockridge and Houston Stackhouse Jr. on October 13, 1974. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1993. After high school Phillip attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and later joined the United States Army. He later attended Phillips County Community College.
He confessed his love for Christ at an early age at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ under Elder McArthur Dismuke. Phillip remained a fervent believer in Gods word and an active member of the music ministry for several churches.
Professionally, Phillip was a Middle School Teacher for KIPP Delta DCPS, collaborating with many on programs such as Blues In School in Helena, the Black n Da Blues, and Delta Cultural Center.
Phillip became a influential part of the community as a talented singer, actor, and amazing saxophonist. Phillip was a regular participant in the Delta King Biscuit Blues Festival where he performed with his band, Little Biscuit, on the Stackhouse Stage for several years. He performed at the Queen of Clubs working with Wayne Webb and the Helena Little Theatre.
Phillip was preceded in death by his grandfather, Houston Stackhouse Sr., grandfather, David Lockridge Sr., great uncle John L. Jefferson, great aunt Odell Sneed, mother, Donna Dismuke, and cousin DeVante Daniel Ward.
He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters Samara Knotts, Dionna Knotts (Burlington, Iowa), Genesis Stackhouse, and Promise Stackhouse (New Mexico), and son Dallas Stackhouse (Jonesboro, Arkansas); father, Houston Stackhouse Jr., step-father Elder McArthur Dismuke Sr.; 13 brothers, James Stackhouse, Houston Stackhouse III, Dewayne Stackhouse, Christopher Wallace, LeKeith Richardson, Kevin Stackhouse, Reginald Washington, Houston A. Stackhouse, Enrico Abernathy, and Tarius Fletcher, McArthur Dismuke Jr, John Moses Dismuke, Nicolas Dismuke; eight sisters, Yosia Rawlings, Zevelyn Wallace, Tamika Love, Yoko Heard, Sharee White, Angel Bailey, Nikki Dismuke, and Geraldine Turner;.
Grandmother Georgia Lewis, grandmother, Leona Lockridge; four aunts Queen E. Billingsley, Greathel Bowdery, Carol Wallace, and Unita Stackhouse-Thomas; three uncles David Lockridge, Howard Lockridge, and James W. Stackhouse. A host of cousins, nieces and other extended family. Special thanks to cousins Tamika Lockridge and LaShawn Billingsley. Phillip touched the lives of many, was loved by many, and will be missed by many.
