He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Moody Sr. and Mary Alice Lane; his daughter Eliza Green; his brother Leo Lane; his stepson Eddie Clark Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, David Hughes and Joe Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Moody; his daughter Crystal Moody; his grandson Ethan Whitley; his stepchildren, Donna Jones, Scott Jones, James Jones, Carolyn Lee, Michelle Williams, Bobby Jones (Crystal Jones) and Joe Thelma (Bertha Thelma); and his siblings, Dorothy Wiley, Audrey Rodgers, Mary Hudson, Catherine Jordan, Geneva Hughes, Queen Esther Green (Nathaniel), Ruthie Mae Moody, Jacqueline Moody, Linda Moody, Joyce Moody and Charles Moody.
