She was predeceased by: her husband Willie Martin; her parents, Allen Carpenter and Rosetta Taylor; and her children, Diane Carpenter and Willie Carpenter.
She is survived by: her grandson Gregory McDaniel (Towarner); her great grandchildren, Antonio of Washington, Nakkiyyah Phillips and Sh'Ron Lipsey; and her siblings, Gurlene Williams and W. C. Carpenter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
