He was predeceased by: his parents, Millus Tripp and Ora Lee Robinette Tripp; his children, Elvin Tripp, Hatrick Tripp and Tommy Tripp; and his grandson Robert Brown.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn (David Barahona), Carla (Jim McAlister), Laura Sue Tripp Talbert and Leah (Cameron McKisson); and his sister Mickey (Jim Donohue). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
