He is survived by: his wife Hazel Karlene Wright Payton; his children, Leon "Pete" Payton II (Lindsey) of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Kristin LaVenna Kimbrell (Christopher) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his stepdaughter Katrina Wright; his grandchildren, Camden Kimbrell, Paris Payton, Caleb Payton, Cole Payton, Tanner Rackley and Carter McElhany; and his great grandchild Makaylah Landers.
