He is survived by: his wife Williams Heffington of Maryland; his brother Dan Heffington; his children, Lisa James (Darrel), Vickie Shamlin, Allen Haley and Tammy Prince; his grandchildren, Darrel James III, Jacob James, Mason Haley, Kaitlyn Haley, Jeffrey Smith, Austin Smith (Kristen) and Landon Engle; and his great grandchildren, Anthony James, Archer James, Marshall McLemore, Amanda McLemore, Lacey McLemore, Laynie Thompson, Drew Thompson Liam Haley and Everleigh Smith.
