He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Guffey and Mabel Hammond Guffey; and his brother Levelle Guffey. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Guffey (Doyle); his daughters, Danna Sue Barkley (Barry) of Jonesboro and Jill Elizabeth Gibson (Rob) of Jonesboro; his stepsons, Chad Harris of Newport, Josh Harris (Terri Riley) of Newport and Zach Harris of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Drew Guffey, Luke Barkley, Ryder Gibson, Aubrey Shipman, Harper Harris and Hayes Harris; his siblings, Gerald Wayne Guffey of Pitts, Bobbie Dean Meiner of Hazen and Carolyn Sue Grady of Hazen; his siblings-in-law, Mickey Doyle (Tinker), Gil Doyle and Fonda Doyle; his nieces and nephews, Randy Guffey (Delana), Kenny Guffey (Rhonda), Keith Guffey (Renee Kieffer), Justin Doyle (Megan), Nick Doyle (Jordan), Kolby Burton (Ana Williams), Hunter Doyle, Suanne Hazelwood, Kim Smith and Kori Cloud (Rodney); and his grandchildren, Matti Stevens, Sophie Staggs and Raeleigh Cloud.
