She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert "Lee" Bates; and her parents, James Walter Bishop and Beulah Mae Tidwell. She is survived by: her daughter Janet Bates Sooter; her son-in-law Guinn Sooter of Heber Springs; her grandchild Jory Lee Bates; and her niece Karen Rains. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 19th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Pleasant Springs Fellowship (199 Pleasant Springs Rd W, Quitman, AR 72131).
