She was predeceased by: her parents, Ashley John and Tessie Pearl Turner (Durham); her husband John Brinkley; her siblings, Arnold Turner, James Turner, Gene Turner, Geraldine Rouse, Pauline Bradley and Leota Turner; and her granddaughter Ashley Anshultz.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debourah Sue Smith (Joe Ray Smith) and Cynthia Shores; and her grandchildren, Trevor Glen Warner and Snowda Kaye Warner. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
