He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Tipton and Tessie Arcola King Tipton. He is survived by: his wife Karen Coyle Tipton; his daughters, Meagan Tuggle (Bubba), Maleah Haralson (Ricky) of Romance and Sarah Tipton (Cody Smith) of Hazen; his siblings, Brenda Persons (Donald) of Pine Bluff, James "Jug" Tipton (Corman) of De and Marty Tucek (Robert) of Stuttgart; his grandchildren, Easton Tuggle, Avery Haralson and Ally Haralson; and his father-in-law Lamar Coyle. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
