He was predeceased by: his children, Allen Sams and Patricia Hiland; and his brothers, Rufford Sams and Darrell Sams. He is survived by: his children, Mona Gail (Edger Best), Larry (Debbie Sams) and Robert Sams of Hartman; and his daughter-in-law Laura Sams of Lamar. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
