He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufuss Hern and Stacy Adams Hern; and his siblings, John Weber Hern, Carroll Eugene Hern, Ester Williams, Nora Lee Hern, Paralee Wilson, Catherine Morris and Jane Rodriguez.
He is survived by: his sisters, Ada Ruth Hern and Paulette Hern; his sisters-in-law, Helen Hern and Earlene Hern; and his nieces and nephews, Ian Carter, Laddie Brown and Chloe Carter. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
