Velma Jo Norton Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 18, 2024, at the age of 85, Velma Jo Norton (Harrison, Arkansas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Smith and Nancy Criner Smith; her brothers, Kenneth Smith and Carl Smith; her sisters-in-law, Lorene Smith, Barbara Smith and Wardena Smith; and her niece Melinda Cook.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Norton; her children, Greg Norton (Christy) and Pam Grice (Greg); her grandchildren, Tyler Norton (Bailey), Katie Oakes (Dustin), Matt Grice, Ben Grice (Jaimie) and Nick Grice (Ally); and her siblings, Denver Smith (Jo), Jerry Smith (Jovita) and Beverly Bryant (Murl). She is also survived by her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and many of her close friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holt Memorial Chapel (1904 Capps Rd, Harrison, AR 72601). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the BIG Creek Assembly of God (1130 State Hwy 374, Vendor, AR 72683). A burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at the Smith Cemetery.
