He was predeceased by: his parents, Luney Gilmore and Beatrice Martin Gilmore; and his siblings, Claude Oren, Niva Sue and Peggy Lou.

He is survived by: his former spouse Miss Effie Lorene Edgmon; his wife Effie Gilmore; his son Martin David Gilmore of Deer; his siblings, Shelia Jumper of Little Rock, Dennis Gilmore of Pelsor and Paul Gilmore of Deer; and his grandchildren, Dallas Harness, Ryan, Christen, Rylea and Oakley Martin.
