With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Gray Smith of Harrison, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 23, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Joseph farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joseph is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Thames Smith and Phillip Smith; his wife Neata Smith; his children, Randall Smith and Shirley Talkington; and his grandchildren, Layce Lundy and Matthew Cheatham.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Ray Smith of Oklahoma, Ronald Smith (Margie) of Arkansas and Sharon Cheatham (Randy) of Arkansas; and his daughter-in-law Laurie Smith. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery (5604 US-63, Pomona, MO 65789).
