He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carrie Fola Baker and Ernest J. Schorghofer; his stepfather Elmer E Baker; his brothers, Joseph Jack Schorghofer and James Allen Baker; his wife Cynthia S. Baker; his children, Dennis Baker (Laura), John J. Baker, Jr. (Ladonna), Dallasandra Baker and Jennifer Baker Dill (Matthew); his sister Linda Mae Richardson (Tom); and his sister-in-law Laurie Schorghofer. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
