He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Mathis and Edith Mathis (Keef); his spouse Cleatus Mathis (Blair); and his brothers, David and Bill.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Eubanks (Kenneth), Rodney Mathis (Vicki) and Dolph Mathis (Jana); his cousin Maudine "Dean"; his pets, Ole Red, Precious and Butter; his sister Cheryl; his grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Mathis Cooper (Jesse), Matthew Mathis (Sierra), Lacy, Hailey Mathis, Hannah, Susanna, Jospeh Denny (Shawna), Ayla, Zack and Scarlett; his nieces, Brenda and Jennie; and his close friends, Jimmy Ray and Renee Osborne.
