He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Thomas Mixon and Mittie Frances Lovette Mixon; and his siblings, Giddens Mixon, Etheridge Mixon (Pete), L. T. Mixon, Jr, Edward Mixon, Julia Thomas, Annie Pitts and Mary Frances Mixon.
He is survived by: his sister Louvenia McCants; his daughter-in-law Arva Owens of Harrisburg; and his stepgrandchildren, Sandy Wiggington (Randy), Barbara Davis (Butch), Denise Williams (Kyle) and Butch Mitcherson (Nancy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
