He was predeceased by: his parents, John Zeiger and Ida Davis Zeiger; his sister Louise Utley; and the mother of his children Rhonda Martin. He is survived by: his wife Debi Orr Zeiger; his stepson Shane Russell (Alanna); his grandchildren, Jessica Shaw (Shelby), Beau Zeiger (Ciara), John Zeiger (Katalina), McKenzie Zeiger-Fletcher (Hunter), Wyatt Zeiger, Jakob "Jake" Zeiger, Mashaia Trivitt (Bryce) and Eutah Russell (Marly); and his sisters, Nancy Rogers and Anna May Davenport. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Walker Cemetery (east of Hardy) and Liberty Hill Church.
