It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Mae Byrd of Hampton, Arkansas, born in Worcester, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Ballard and Edith Ballard; her brother Amos; and her husband Raymond Randolph Byrd. She is survived by: her children, Raymond Byrd Jr. of Hampton, Arkansas., Barbara Akins of Hampton, Arkansas. and Richard Byrd of Hampton, Arkansas.; and her grandchildren, Ernie Byrd (Pam) of Seligman, Arizona, Lisa Johnson (Chuck) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Felicia McCord (Bill) of Jurupa Valley, California and John Akins (Kelly) of Mountain View, Arkansas. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home, 909 Greenlee Street, Denton, Texas 76201.
