She was predeceased by: her husband Luke Avant; her sons, Larry Avant and Richard Avant; and her siblings, Martha Sue Lindsey, Pat Dempsey and Joe Reaves.
She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Cartwright (Wesley) of Camden, AR; her grandchildren, Libby Avant, Mathew Avant, Nathan Avant and Deanna Douglass; and her sister-in-law Janie Reaves of Tinsman, AR. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
