It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonja Barfield of Hamburg, Arkansas, who passed away on October 4, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Oliver Wendell Barfield; her son Oliver Wendell Barfield Jr.; her parents, J. T. Willard and Blanche Myers Willard; and her sister Karen Wood.
She is survived by: her children, Jonathan Barfield (Sonya) of Hamburg, AR, Betty Lynn Gantt of Hamburg, AR and Deborah Shaver (Shannon); her siblings, Jackie Willard of Pontotoc, MS and Jeannie Pence (Terry); and her grandchildren, Patrick Stanley, Chris Barfield, Kaylon Moffatt, Laura Cynova, Hope Jones, Chloe Higginbotham and Matthew Gantt. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, a host of other family and friends.
