She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Gene Barnard; her grandson Matthew Barnard; her parents, Walter McCauly and Carrie Pollock McCauly; her sisters, Helen Honeycutt and Wanda Sue McCauly; and her son-in-law Johnny Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia "Sam" Smith of Hamburg and Dewey Barnard (Brenda) of Mayflower; her sister Ann Hill of Hamburg; her grandchildren, Karli Barnard (Mark) and Amy Wilson (Chris); and her great grandchildren, Emma, Izabella and Matti Grace.
