He is survived by: his wife Kathy Richards Nelms of Snyder; his children, Ray Nelms of Monticello, John Daniel Nelms of Snyder, Mart Nelms (Gina) of Hamburg, Laken Wentworth (Taylor) of Snyder and Kimberly Nelms of Snyder; his siblings, Frankie Nelms (Brenda) of Crossett, Betty Sue Shirley of Vaiden, Marcelle Buckner (Jerry) of Hamburg and Kathy Greenwood (Terry) of Hamburg; his grandchildren, Austina Byrd (Joey), Tiara Cash (J. T.), Tyler Nelms, Mallory Nelms, Avery Nelms, Ethan Nelms, Dakota Womack, Braxton Winstead, Timber Wentworth, Pariz Mondragon, Daylin Norrell and Daisy Newton; and his great grandchildren, Braylee Jo Byrd, Kenner Byrd and Jesse Ray Cash.
