He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Graves Stell; and his stepfather Howard Foster. He is survived by: his wife Belinda White Stell of Hamburg; his sons, Wade Stell of Monticello, Clay Stell of Monticello and Justin Stell of Monticello; his stepdaughters, Tiffany Allen of Batesville and Heather Hackett of Carroll, Texas; his mother Barbara Chance Foster of Hamburg; and his siblings, Patricia Miller (James) of Crossett and Jimmy Stell (Pam) of Hamburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
