With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bobby Joe Witherington (Hamburg, Arkansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hays and Margaret Nell Knight Witherington; and his brothers, John Witherington and Charles "Todd" Witherington. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Vaught Witherington of Hamburg; his sons, Dr. Brent Witherington (Laura) of Fort Smith and Blake Witherington of Hot Springs; his sisters, Sue Witherington Trost of Little Rock and Jayne Witherington Burnett of Florence; and his grandchildren, Jackson Witherington, Julia Witherington, Janie Witherington and Ella Claire Witherington.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home (302 E Lincoln St, Hamburg, AR 71646). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hamburg First United Methodist Church (202 S Main St, Hamburg, AR 71646).
