He is survived by: his wife Jamie Kay; his son Matthew Smith (April); his grandchildren, Alissa Smith, Kyler Smith and Grant Smith (Alexandria); his great grandchildren, Alice Smith of Griffithville, Max Smith of Griffithville and Chase Chambers of Griffithville; his siblings, Gail Ann Southard McNeal (Thomas Joseph) of Naperville, IL, Stanley James Southard of Glenview, IL, Alan Roy Southard of Griffithville and Orin Dee Southard of Chicago, IL; and his close friend Joseph John Koch of Griffithville. He is also survived by five nieces, seven great nieces, and two great-nephews.
