He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sexton and Nita Sexton; his brothers, Harold Sexton and Leslie Sexton; and his sons, Randy Sexton, Tom Sexton and Jimmy Sexton.

He is survived by: his wife Cathay Sexton; and his children, Leah Anne Morse (Taylor) of Rossville, TN, Dezarae Whitaker (Danyeel) of Pleasant Grove, AR and Jeff Sexton (April) of Greers Ferry, AR. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Any memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Big Creek Baptist Church.
