We are sad to announce that on November 26, 2024, at the age of 93, Marie Southern of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Marie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil D. Roulett and Pauline Drucilla Roulett (Frye); her husband Billy Joe Southern; her sons, Danny Lee Southern and Steven Paul Southern; and her sisters, Vivan Shumake and Emma Broadrick.
She is survived by: her daughter Gayla Sharon Hicks (James Joe) of Greenwood; her sisters, Charlotte Campbell (Albert) of Huntsville and Tammie Carter of Manchester, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Matthew Hicks, Mitchell Hicks, Lucas Southern and Luanne Southern. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
