He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Byron and Myrtle Lowrie (Sealy); his sisters, Barbara Williams, Gloria Ward and Peggy Scoggins; and his son-in-law Mark Trevor.
He is survived by: his wife Alpha Mae Lowrie; his children, Donna Byers (late Mark Trevor), Lisa Ponce (Orlando), Stephanie Miller (Bill), Joey Lowrie (Candice) and Kenney Landers; his grandchildren, Jamie Walling (Seth), Christopher Byers (Amanda), Jennifer O'Mara (John-Michael), Justin Johnston (Nickki), Nathan Ponce, Marlee Miller, Lanie Miller, Karsten Miller, Miranda Smith (Cameron), Chase Lowrie (Lena) and Deanna Buckner (Chris); his great grandchildren, Rayder, Rian, Chandler, Graham, Piper, Layla, Reagan, Liam, Rylei, Kenlei, Emreigh, Haidyn, Lilly Anne, Ella, Abigail, Serenity and David; and his siblings, Linda Carlisle (Richard), Bobby Lowrie (Judy) and Donnie Lowrie (Belinda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McConnell Funeral Home (137 N Main St, Greenwood, AR 72936). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Greenwood First Free Will Baptist Church (725 Park Dr, Greenwood, AR 72936). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Steep Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be sent to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in Joe's honor.
