Iva Lue Hicks Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Iva Lue Hicks of Greenwood, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 23, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Iva may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Iva touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Willsey and Vergil Willsey (Elmore); and her husband Reverend Robert W. Hicks. She is survived by: her children, Shelia Sockey (John) of Pocola, Carmen Brown of Greenwood, Michael Hicks of Alma and Kendall Hicks (Shirley) of Fort Smith. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ocker Putman Funeral Home (4500 Jenny Lind Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72901). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Dawson Cemetery.
