He is survived by: his father Don Whitson of Ozark; his close friend Josh Whitson; his daughter Sarah Whitson Brownfield (Brody) of Greenwood; his wife Carol Whitson; his son Josh Whitson (Megan) of Fort Smith; his siblings, John Whitson (Sabrena) of New Braunfels, TX, Debbie DiLella (Ric) of Rainbow City, AL and Lori Whitson of Rainbow City, AL; his grandchildren, Hayes, Theo Whitson, Lettie and Ella Beth Brownfield; his siblings-in-law, Eddie Hawkins (Andrea) of Greenwood and Donna Rogers (David) of Wimauma, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Erica, Lauren, Hannah, Brittany, Erin, Daniel, Matt, Michael and Sam.
