He was predeceased by: his sister Donna Crelia. He is survived by: his wife Helen Coplin; his children, Debus Coplin (Karla) and Sherry Cheatham; and his grandchildren, David (Erica), Steven (Pamela), Michael (Sara), Jessica (Eric), Jami (Matt), Julia and Janna. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
