He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Cardin and Tressie McGinty Cardin; his siblings, Don Cardin of Florida, Ella Dean Cardin of McGintytown and Emma Reed of Greenbrier; and his children, Tressie Cardin Pruss and Lewis Jay Cardin Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" Applegate Cardin of Holland; his children, Sky Skaggs, Lisa Gail Ridgedell of Mississippi, Toni Pruitt of Vilonia and Shawna Shannon of Little Rock; his siblings, Damon Cardin (Ann) of Guy, Dorothy Gail Black of Greenbrier and Maydean Hammett of Greenbrier; and his grandchildren, Travis Widsom, Bailey Pruss, Carl Wayne Ridgedell Jr., Danille Morris, Trinity Cardin, Logan Breann Gwathney, Katie Beth Pruitt, Emily Pruitt, Brian Shannon and Brad Shannon. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
