He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Cardin and Carrie Abrams Cardin; and his siblings, Wilma Bennings and Bob Abrams. He is survived by: his wife Tommie Ellen Abrams; and his daughter Jo Ellen "Jody" (Monty Havens). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
